SUBSTANCE: invention relates to breakers of emulsions water-in-oil with low toxicity to be used for breaking emulsions in crude oil. Proposed method comprises bringing emulsion in contact with emulsion breaker, i.e. alkoxylenated terpene. Invention relates also to composition including alkoxylenated terpene and solvent selected from the group including glycols, glycol esters, alcohols, water, hydrocarbons, fat acid methyl ethers and combinations thereof.
EFFECT: efficient low-toxicity crude oil emulsion breaker.
