SUBSTANCE: apparatus for encoding an audio signal is configured to receive audio components from a microphone located near a sound source or directed towards a sound source, and receive audio components from an additional microphone. The additional microphone lies further from the sound source than the main microphone or is directed away from the sound source. Audio components obtained from the additional microphone are fewer than those obtained from the main microphone. The apparatus is also configured to generate a first encoding level with scaling of the signal from audio components obtained from the main microphone, and generate a second encoding level with scaling of the signal from audio components obtained from the additional microphone.

EFFECT: easier efficient reproduction of a sound stereo panorama for such operating conditions as holding conferences and use of equipment by a mobile user.
