SUBSTANCE: method involves receiving an allocation command message which carries the MAIO allocation (MAIOA) and the MAIO allocation index offset (MAIOAIO), calculating the MAIOAI for the mobile station (MS) based on the MAIOA and MAIOAIO, obtaining the MAIO used currently used by the MS based on the MAIOA and MAIOAI, obtaining the frequency currently used by the MS based on the MAIO. The method, which is provided in versions of the present invention, simplifies calculation of the MAIOAI and saves memory space of the MS.
