FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical cleaning of hydrocarbon gas (associated oil gas, natural gas, propane-butane mix, etc) of hydrogen sulphide and may be used in oil-and-gas, chemical and power production industries. Proposed method represents electrophysical conversion of hydrogen sulphide in barrier discharge plasma without using catalysts, adsorbents, alkaline solutions, or amine reagents. Proposed method is realised in plasma chemical reactor with barrier discharge at voltage HV pulse amplitude of 5.5 kV and pulse repetition rate of 500-3500 Hz and content of the following components in initial mix: hydrogen sulphide - 1.9-9.4 vol. %, air - 1.1-76.6 vol. %, water 0.9 vol. %, carbon dioxide - up to 11.4 vol. %, and helium - up to 8.3 vol. %.
EFFECT: simplified process without using catalysts, adsorbents, alkaline solutions, or amine reagents.
