FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Sealing and acoustic damping insert comprises one or more bearing plates and thermally expandable material. Said bearing plates are made from polymer material, not deforming at heating to temperature not exceeding 180°C. Thermally expandable material, particularly, polymer material, comprises primary polymer and vibration-absorbing polymer material. Primary polymer imparts mechanical strength to said bearing plate. In compliance with first version, said inserts is produced by injection moulding. Hear, primary polymer and vibration-absorbing polymer are mixed prior to or in forming bearing plate. In compliance with second version, primary polymer and vibration-absorbing polymer are simultaneously injected into mould. To damp vibrations caused by airflow or structure design aforesaid insert is fitted inside lengthwise cavity. Said thermally expandable material is heated to bring it in contact with cavity inner surface to seal said cavity.
EFFECT: higher tightness and beteer vibration isolation.
