FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises reversing constant current. Note here that, prior to boronising, cleaning electrolysis is carried out at voltage lower than that of melt decomposition. Boronising is performed in melt containing 3 wt % of boron oxide, calcium chloride making the rest, in current reversing conditions with cathode pulse duration of τk=1.5-1.7 s, anode pulse duration of τa=0.3-0.4 s at identical current density of 0.03 - 0.04 A/cm2 in both pulses.
EFFECT: ruled out formation of passivation layer on cathode.
