FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: brake comprises fixed element 1, moving element 2 displacing relative to the former in first degree of freedom. Note here that first sliding contact in first contact surface occurs between said element 1 and element 2 caused by controlled normal force acting in second degree of freedom. During said contact, first friction force counteracts the motion of moving element relative to fixed element. Besides, it comprises intermediate elements 3, 4. Note here that second sliding contact in second contact surface occurs between said element 2 and at least one intermediate 4 caused by controlled normal force acting in second degree of freedom. During said contact, second friction force counteracts the motion of moving element relative to intermediate element. At least, intermediate 3 displaces in first degree of freedom relative to fixed element between normal and braking positions. Note here that said intermediate element is spring-loaded at normal state. Described device is incorporated in lift.
