FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of mixtures for making enamel coating on ceramic articles. The mixture for making enamel coating contains the following, pts.wt: quartz 73.0-75.0; red lead 6.0-10.0; chalk 4.5-5.5; crystalline boric acid 4.5-5.5; bone ash 4.5-5.5; zinc oxide 2.5-3.5. The coating has water resistance not lower than hydrolytic class II. The prepared components are fed in the required amounts, mixed and melted at temperature of 1400-1450°C. The suspension is deposited on the surface of articles and fixed by firing at temperature of 1050-1150°C.

EFFECT: high water resistance of the coating.
