FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of mixtures for making enamel coating on ceramic articles. The mixture for making enamel coating contains the following, pts.wt: quartz 20.0-25.0; crystalline boric acid 6.0-8.0; glass cutting sludge 69.0-72.0. The glass cutting sludge is formed during diamond cutting and chemical polishing of crystals. The mixture has melting temperature of 1250-1300°C. The molten mass is granulated in water. The granulated material is ground until complete passage through sieve No0056 and a suspension with moisture content of 45-50% is prepared. The suspension is deposited on the surface of ceramic articles and fixed by firing.
EFFECT: low melting temperature of the mixture for making enamel coating.
