FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the disinfection of medical and biological waste. A disinfection system for medical and biological waste comprises a microwave chamber accommodating a working chamber and magnetrons mounted from the outside of the chamber with the chamber comprising a sealed container with a lid to accommodate water-wet waste, and the lid of the sealed container has a hole with a hose fitting for steam removal. From the outside of the chamber, there are a cooler for steam escaping from the container, and a sensor measuring the steam temperature coupled to a microprocessor control board. The container has a hole to mount a thermocouple to measure the disinfected waste temperature. The thermocouple is immersed to the bottom of the container into disinfested waste and connected to the microprocessor control board. The magnetron power is adjusted by one of the measured parameters, namely the temperature of steam escaping from the container or the temperature of disinfected that is the first to reach the value specified by an operator.

EFFECT: improved safety and adjustment accuracy of the waste disinfection process, and eliminates potential inflammation of disinfested waste.
