FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method involves formation of a coating on the surface of the part by plasma sputtering and its further electromechanical treatment using a lubricant coolant. At that, the coating is formed layer by layer till the necessary total thickness with thickness of each layer, which is chosen from the following condition, is obtained: hl<hcr, where hl - thickness of the coating layer, hcr - thickness of the layer, at which lamination or cracking of the coating occurs during further electromechanical treatment. After electromechanical treatment is completed, the coating is additionally treated with a water jet with high pressure of 9 - 10 MPa.

EFFECT: increasing density of powder coating, its adhesive and cohesive strength for wide range of thicknesses of coatings.
