FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: chemical sensor used is a composite sorbent of the following composition, wt %: finely ground silica gel KSMG - 20, gypsum - 5, 20% liquid glass - 5, water - the balance, which is thoroughly mixed, deposited on aluminium foil, passed through a compression device, dried under an air current from a ventilator and then in a temperature-controlled cabinet until the surface of the sorbent becomes white, cut into sensor strips which are dipped into an engine fuel sample, held for not less than 5 seconds and the colour of said strips is compared with a given scale.
EFFECT: simpler and faster analysis.
