FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used to make industrial and jewellery articles. Diamond synthesis is carried out at temperature of 700-900°C in a melt which contains a compound of oppositely charged carbon ions C+n, C-n, having the following composition, wt %: CaC2 - 14.0; Na2CO3 - 9.0; K2CO3 -11.0; Na2B4O7 - 66.0 in a high-frequency induction electric field at frequency of 40-80 kHz in the presence of a granular ion catalyst with granule size of 0.3-0.5 mm in amount of 1.0-1.5% of the total weight of components contained in the melt.
EFFECT: simple process owing to exclusion of excess pressure, elimination of hazardous and adverse conditions as well as low production cost of diamonds.
