FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: formation method of progressive spring stiffness by means of effect of gradual increase in surface area (as the spring is being loaded) of its being adjoined to a support surface, which is called spreading, is characterised by the fact that a spread section of the spring has constant cross section. When in initial state, the section being spread has constant curvature radius R. During the spreading process, the spring is taken out of operation. Support surface of the stiff support excluding the identification as an elastic member is made flat. Elastic suspension member of the transport vehicle is made in the form of a pack fixed with a central bolt and consists of a semi-elliptical spring. The pack includes a central support. The central support has a flat support surface and a "П"-shaped cross section. The cross section stiffness is enough to exclude the support identification as an elastic member. In order to create the spreading effect, a flat surface of a stiff part of a chassis, and namely a frame or a body of a transport vehicle is used as the support surface. Semi-elliptical spring is located above or under the axis of a wheel pair and has a "П"-shaped or a T-shaped cross section respectively.
EFFECT: simplifying the design and improving the operating efficiency of an elastic suspension member of the transport vehicle.
