FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pedestrian beacon has a frame-post with a base for mounting into the ground, elements for turning on a light signal and light emitters. The sign "Pedestrian crossing" is provided with pulsed light emitters lying on fields outside zone of the drawing, the pulse of which is obtained through communication with a column having energy carriers inside, which is mounted on the side of the pavement before the zebra crossing, said column also being equipped with trigger mechanisms in form of a spring-loaded cap or a lever in form of a handle, which is actuated downwards at the level of the lowered hand of the pedestrian intending to cross the road, or by pressing a pedal lying at the bottom of the column. All trigger mechanisms act on such energy carriers as magnetic, daylight energy carriers and other carriers or buttons for turning on main electric power supply.
EFFECT: safe road crossing by broadening functional capabilities of the pedestrian crossing sign which is equipped with pulsed light emitters.
