METHOD OF PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF PERSISTING PULMONARY HYPERTENSION SYNDROME IN PREMATURE BABIES Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B5/02

Abstract RU 2482788 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to neonatology. Echocardiographic examination of preterm baby is performed on 10-th day of life. Rate of blood flow between cusps of pulmonary artery valve, dimensions of left ventricle on long axis, rate of blood flow between cusps of mitral valve in phase of auricle systole are measured and prognostic index is calculated by mathematical formula. If prognostic index is higher than 0, development of persisting pulmonary hypertension syndrome is predicted, in case of prognostic index being less than 0, conclusion about normal state of cardiovascular system and absence of persisting pulmonary hypertension syndrome is made.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict development of persisting pulmonary hypertension syndrome in preterm babies in non-invasive way on 10-th day, to determine further tactics of preterm baby management and determine treatment volume.
