FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of raising the dropping temperature of lithium complex grease, involving thickening base oil with lithium soap of 12-hydroxystearic acid and adding a borate, wherein first a base oil mixture which is thickened with lithium soap of hydroxystearic acid is obtained, said base oil being industrial mineral oil or synthetic oil or a mixture of mineral and synthetic oil, having kinematic viscosity of 5-600 cS at 40°C, followed by addition of tri-2-ethylhexylborate and a metal dialkyl dithiophosphate, after which the obtained mixture whose temperature is not above 90°C is stirred to a homogeneous state, with the following ratio of components, wt %: lithium soap of 12-oxystearic acid 8.0-20.0; tri-2-ethylhexylborate 2.0-3.2; metal dialkyl dithiophosphate 0.5-2.0; base oil - the balance.
EFFECT: high reliability and longer service life of friction assemblies of machines and mechanisms by providing dropping temperature of the lubricant.
