SUBSTANCE: in the recording method, first conversion is performed with inversion on bits of symbols of a codeword which is encoded with an error correction code and includes a plurality of symbols in order to form conversion information and the conversion information is recorded on a first recording medium. First conversion is such that the distance between first information, obtained by performing reverse conversion for first conversion of conversion information, and second information obtained by performing reverse conversion for second conversion, which is different from the first conversion of the conversion information, is 1/2 of the minimum free distance of the error correction code.
EFFECT: preventing the obtaining of a wrong address during reproduction by a device from an optical disc having a format which is incompatible with said device.
