Encoding method involves interlacing of input digital signal samples in order to produce input interlaced digital signal, adding first parity bit to input interlaced digital signal in order to produce advance modification interlaced signal, removing interlace of said advance modification signal in order to produce intermediate signal, adding second parity bit to intermediate signal. First parity bit uses at least first code sequence of input interlaced digital signal. Second parity bit uses second code sequence, which corresponds to symbol set, which is chosen from multiple adjacent first code sequences, and shifts symbols by one. Position of symbols in second code sequence does not correspond to sequence of symbols, as they are stored in recording carrier.
