FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate has chip breaker, threaded profile with point and reference plane. Said chip breaker is composed of three sequentially arranged and intercommunicated concave spherical surfaces with their centers at bisector of plate profile angle and radii r of spherical surfaces increasing from cutting plate point to its geometrical center at r1=0.10h, r2=0.15h, r3=0.20h, respectively, where h is plate threaded profile height with increasing height of spherical stress edges by magnitude, for every plate spherical surface, h1=0.05h, h2=0.15h, h3=0.027h, and with shift from the point of centers of connected spherical surfaces making l1=0.2h, l2=0.3h, l3=0.55h, respectively. Note here that generating lines of spherical surfaces bottoms are located at tangent to generatrix of circle of radius R=1.5h, with coordinates L, H of circle center relative to cutting plate point in direction of threaded plate profile angle bisector L=0.15h and in direction perpendicular to plate reference plane H=0.85h.
EFFECT: stable chip breaking.
