FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises the steps that follow. Slab is heated to 1100-1210°C. Multipass roughing with total relative reduction of, at least, 30%, is performed to terminate at 720- 820°C. Accelerated cooling of strips by water to 400-600°C and air is performed. Note here that finishing is carried out in two steps with interval there between. Note also that first step is performed at 780-920°C with total relative reduction of 35-80%, while second step is started at 750-850°C with total relative reduction of 20-60%. Interval duration is set to 20-80 s while water cooling is carried out at the rate of, at least, 5°C/s. For strip production used is the steel containing the following elements in wt %: not over -0.12 C, 0.17-0.37 Si, 1.4-2.0 Mn, 0.02-0.05 Al, 0.01-0.30 Cr, 0.01-0.30 Ni, not over 0.30 Cu, 0.04-0.09 Nb, 0.04-0.12 V, not over 0.40 Mo, Fe and impurities making the rest.
EFFECT: higher cold resistance, lower costs.
