FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves trivalent iron cathions removal byway of addition of solid iodic acid or iodic acid solid anhydride or their water solutions with concentration from 1.0 kg/l up to saturation, such solutions produced at a temperature of 0 °C - 100 °C, the process proceeding at the following mole ratio of Fe3+ : HiO3 = 1 : (0,3 ÷ 6) with trivalent iron iodate sedimentation.
EFFECT: extension of electrolyte service life and prevention of salvo discharge of electrolyte to the treatment plants.
