FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: ball-type seal for insulation of perforations in a well includes an inner core retaining its initial shape at location on perforation in the well shaft, and at least two layers located on the inner core, at least one of which is a deformed intermediate layer, and at least the other one is an external layer. Besides, the deformed layer includes material deformed under pressure, and external layer includes a material layer to enclose the intermediate layer at deformation of the intermediate layer and has the ability to be adapted to postdeformation shape of the intermediate layer. Well perforation insulation method involves the following stages: injection to perforation area of the well of the above ball-type seal suspended in fluid medium; application of pressure in the well till ball-type seal is located on perforation and till pressure increases to the level sufficient for deformation at least of one intermediate deformed layer of ball-type seal and creation of seal between ball-type seal and perforation.

EFFECT: effective sealing of perforations of different shapes.
