FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of assessing sound insulation of an aircraft cabin in flight conditions involves simultaneous measurement of noise inside the cabin using acoustic microphones or acoustic antennae and measuring vibration on structural components of the cabin, determining levels of the noise sound pressure spectrum in frequency bands and spectral characteristics of vibration, comparing said levels with standard levels or levels set by noise level requirements inside the cabin. Identical frequency components of vibration and noise with levels higher than levels on other frequencies, which result from a vibration noise source and are unaccounted for when selecting and installing sound insulation of the cabin, are selected; the noise level at these frequency components is controlled by changing the structure of sound insulation or eliminating the identified vibration noise source.
EFFECT: rapid and efficient detection of noise sources, high quality of sound insulation of an aircraft cabin.
