FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of fire-retardant solutions for treating wood and wood-based materials in order to impart resistance to biological decomposition agents and prevent burning and flame propagation on the surface. The method involves mixing 5-20 wt % diammonium phosphate ((NH4)HPO4) with boric acid (H3BO3) in dry state, adding water to the mixture in amount of 50-80% of the total weight of dry components, dissolving the mixture at temperature of 90°C, cooling the solution at room temperature to 50°C, and adding amino alcohol ((CnH2n+1)kNH3(k+m)(CnH2nOH)m, where: n, m=1-3(k+m≤3), k=0-2, in amount of 2-10% of the total weight of the solution and cooling while stirring. After cooling the solution to room temperature, a functional additive is added - polyglucosides of C8-C10 fatty acids, e.g. glucopon, in amount of 0.1-1.0 wt %.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain a composition having high fire-retardant efficiency and protective capability with respect to mould and wood-staining fungi.
