SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building and may be used in construction and repair of ship sides. Side bulkhead comprises skin, joists, flexible bar, strip above joist and strengthening elements. Strengthening elements connect strips of joists with the bases of adjacent joists. Said joist are supported by reactive forces of the skin and flexible bar provided with strip to rest on strengthening elements that allows incorporating skin, flexible bar and strengthening elements with elastoplastic support of the bars.

EFFECT: higher bearing capacity of joists.
