FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for operating condition control of electric switch mechanism involves registration of acoustic emission (AE) signals by piezoceramic converters installed at main units and parts of electric switch mechanism; amplification and filtration of AE signals; software processing of AE signals at PC; displaying of graphic and numerical parameters of AE at the PC display. Integral energy from each separate unit and part for a certain period of time is selected as a parameter of AE signals defining operating condition of main units and parts of the electric switch mechanism; at that condition of a separate unit and part of the electric switch mechanism which requires replacement or repair is controlled against a value of integral energy that exceeds the mean value at least twice for the recent five measurement periods.
EFFECT: receipt of information about further operation of the electric switch mechanism with minimum losses in result of hump yard downtime.
