FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for thread cutting on parts operated at alternate load and in abrasive medium. Proposed method comprises cutting the thread by appropriate tool and its thermomechanical hardening by two electrically conducting tool in part rotation and feed through the contact zone of their electric current fed to tools so that areas of contact between tools and part are equal. Note here that one of said electrodes represents a plate made of hard alloy to be arranged in recess between thread turns. Finishing-hardening of thread bottom and adjoining surfaces below effective thread diameter is carried out without part rotation. Another electrode, a rotating roller made of bronze, is arranged between two adjacent turns to perform surface hardening of the remaining part of side surfaces.
EFFECT: higher thread quality.
