FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves synthesis of polyaniline in a cation-exchange membrane in an external electric field in two steps. At the first step, under the effect of the external electric field with current density of 40-100 A/m2, the membrane is saturated with anilinium ions from a 0.01-0.001 M solution of aniline on a background of a 0.05 M solution of sulphuric acid for 15-180 minutes. At the second step, the process of polymerising aniline in the membrane is carried out with current density of 40-100 A/m2 under the effect of a polymerisation initiator - 0.01 M solution of iron (III) chloride on a background of a 0.005 M solution of sulphuric acid for 60-180 minutes.
EFFECT: rapid, ecologically clean and cheaper method of producing composite cation-exchange membranes.
