FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to rolling at wide-strip rolling mill and may be used in development and perfection of hot rolling mills comprising heating furnaces. Proposed method comprises changing slabs before heating from horizontal position in vertical position on setting them on long ring and carried into slab surface diagnostics chamber. Then slabs are carried into heating pusher-type furnace, transferred vertically on roller bottom and heated on both sides by high-rate has burners. Heated slabs are cleaned of scale at descaler and subjected to roughing at roughing stands. Coiled strip is unwound at unwinding coiler and subjected to finishing at finishing stands. Strip is cooled at controlled cooling system and coiled at appropriate coiler.
EFFECT: higher quality of strip, higher efficiency of heating, power savings.
