FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling-mill machinery, particularly, to making 0.6-2.0 mm-thick sheet steel at continuous wide-strip rolling mills. Proposed method comprises heating of slabs, roughing, continuous multipass finish rolling to final-thickness strip at specified finishing temperature, cooling the strip down by water to reeling temperature, and reeling. Note here that finish rolling is performed in two steps. At first step, strip is rolled to thickness 1.2-4.5 times larger than final thickness. Then strip is reeled and held for 5-50 s. At second step, strip is finish rolled to final thickness.
EFFECT: higher ductility, decreased gage interference.
