FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical treatment of gas emissions, particularly a catalyst for oxidative decomposition of organochlorine compounds and a method of producing said catalyst. The invention describes a catalyst for oxidative decomposition of organochlorine compounds in gases which contain gold, rhodium and titanium oxide, with the following ratio of components, wt %: Au - 0.001-1; Rh - 0.05-3; titanium oxide (TiO2) - the balance, and a method of producing said catalyst by depositing a rhodium compound onto titanium oxide in a suspension at room temperature and intense stirring, followed by heating the suspension at temperature of 70-98°C, passing hydrogen over the suspension while stirring, first at temperature of 70-98°C and then at room temperature, followed by addition of a solution of a gold compound to the obtained suspension while stirring and at room temperature under an hydrogen-containing atmosphere.
EFFECT: high catalyst activity and selectivity of oxidation to HCl, wherein catalysts of the disclosed composition enable to form less than 5 ppm CO during oxidation of both humid air (1,6 vol %) and technical-grade air (air water content of 0,26 vol %).
