FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dressing of minerals, particularly, classification of material in fluid by sixe and density. Hydraulic cyclone consists of tapered cylinder housing with tangential inlet pipe and axial discharge pipe on one end and sand nozzle on other side, inner coaxial cylindrical and taped separation channels for fed pulp lined with polyurethane elastomer. Hydrocyclone tapered separation channel is shaped to allow smooth change in curvature of its wall from larger taper angle at top to smaller taper angle at bottom. This affects notable flows hydrodynamics, reduces turbulence, increase tangential component of pulp speed, hence, increases accuracy of grain sizing. Note here that curvilinear generating lines of inner surfaces of tapered separation channel are used as helical curves developed in vertical.
EFFECT: higher separation efficiency.
