FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ore suspension separation at dressing and metallurgical works. Proposed unit comprises suspension distributor whereto connected are six to twelve hydrocyclones of total capacity of 38-230 m3/h. Said hydrocyclones are mounted on frame support. Every hydrocyclone comprises tapered cylinder casing with intake chamber, drain branch pipe, sand bed to be integrated with other sand beds of other hydrocyclones and/or to allow return of separated off-grade large lumps to re-crushing and is provided with inner lining of wear proof material. Hydrocyclone conical profile is formed by variable-thickness lining. Hydrocyclone casing cylinder section ID is 3.5-5.0 times larger than drain branch pipe OD. Drain branch pipe cross-section area makes 0.6-1.0 of that of feed branch pipe and is 6-25 times larger than that of sand bed outlet channel at taper angle of casing bottom making 14-18 degrees.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and quality, power savings.
