FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has series-connected control, computation and display unit, controlled frequency generator, synchronous motor whose shaft is fitted with a ferromagnetic ring made from the analysed ferromagnetic material, the edge of which is placed in a localised magnetic field of an electromagnet with a magnetising coil. The electromagnet is made in form of two magnetically coupled electromagnets with corresponding separate magnetising coils, in the magnetic gap of which poles facing each other are identical. Dielectric rings of the same thickness and having relative magnetic permeability of the order of one are laid coaxially on two flat faces of the ferromagnetic ring and a coil made from a conductor is placed uniformly on the formed ring on said dielectric rings.

EFFECT: high reliability of measurements.
