FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to membranes, namely, to fabrication of cation-exchange membranes used for electrolyte solution desalination by electrodialysis. In compliance with the first version, 1-25%-solution of conditioning agent with thickness that ensures a smooth uniform film is applied on one surface of initial heterogeneous cation-exchange membrane and dried at 25-80°C to hardening. In compliance with the second version, dry carbon material is applied in amount of 10-43% membrane-substrate surface area on conditioning agent solution prior to drying. In compliance with this invention, 1-25%-solution of sulfonated polytetrafluoroethylene is used ad said conditioning agent.

EFFECT: efficient process, higher hydrophobic property and better mass exchange characteristics.
