FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method involves a clamp-on transformer converter with magnetising and measuring windings, for which the product acts as a section of a magnetic chain. A magnetic field is created in the product, which is directed along axis X1, and increments of signals of measuring windings, which are proportional to increments of induction along axes X1 and X2, are determined. Then, magnetic field is created in the product, which is directed along axis X2, and increments of signals of those measuring windings are determined again. Components of the tensor of stresses are calculated as per formulae. First, calibration of the converter is performed on a specimen made from the same material as the test product.
EFFECT: enlarging informativity of monitoring owing to determining individual components of a tensor of mechanical stresses caused by an operating load.
