FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: potential of a working electrode in which an electrochemical reaction takes place is kept constant; the current loop of the electrochemical cell is periodically switched, wherein the short-circuiting duration is selected depending on the desired sensitivity; the average value of the resultant pulse current over the short-circuiting time is measured, said value being proportional to both the concentration of the determined element and the ratio of the switching period to the duration of the short-circuiting interval.
EFFECT: enabling variation of sensitivity in a wide range.
