FIELD: packing industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a packaging film for authentication of products, and also to a method and system of authentication used in combination with a packaging film. The invention objective is to create a protective criterion suitable for commercial applications, with the possibility to provide high protection against reproduction. The packaging film containing pigment particles randomly distributed with a low surface density is used for authentication of products. The first digital image is recorded by means of a display device from the packed product. Using it with the help of software they determine coordinates of position and optionally colour values of pigment particles contained in the packaging film, and using values of coordinates and colour values, they calculate an identification code, which is saved in a database. In order to authenticate a product at a later moment of time, the second digital image is recorded, and a control code is defined, which is compared with recorded identification codes.
EFFECT: creation of a protective criterion suitable for commercial applications, with the possibility to provide high protection against reproduction.
