FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device intended for synthesis of large diamond monocrystals. Proposed device comprises male dies 1 shaped to regular pyramid with truncated vertex to converge in axes to make chamber 2 shaped to regular polyhedron to accommodate container 3 with reaction cell and compressible gaskets 4 arranged between said male dies. Said container is made of pressed zirconium dioxide modified by 5-15%-yttrium oxide. Note here that container porosity makes 15-25%. Owing to zirconium dioxide refractory properties, low heat conductivity and high strength in the entire temperature range the container made thereof may be made with walls of smaller thickness.
EFFECT: enlarged reaction volume without increasing overall dimensions of proposed device, stable pressure and temperature required for growth of large diamond monocrystals.
