FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of determining chemical safety of wood composite material, involving placing samples of the analysed material and an absorbent solution in the closed volume of a drying cabinet, temperature control of the drying cabinet and chemical analysis of the absorbent solution, chemical safety of the wood composite material is determined from concentration of phenol in the absorbent solution by a spectrometric technique.
EFFECT: invention broadens capabilities of the method of determining chemical safety of wood composite materials applied on the prototype by determining phenol release therefrom, while providing high accuracy of readings, eliminates high sensitivity to the determined substance present in air, short duration of the test process, affordable equipment, does not require highly qualified maintenance personnel, improves quality of wood composite materials by allowing constant real-time monitoring of the release of phenol from the produced wood composite material.
