SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heating device for heating a fluid medium in a vessel, especially (but not exclusively) to a heating device for heating milk in a feeding bottle. The improved device for heating a fluid medium in a vessel will be useful because of more efficient heating of a feeding bottle for milk heating, a convenient and relatively fast heating method. The invention provides for a heating device (1, 40, 60) for heating a fluid medium in a vessel (2), in particular - milk in a feeding bottle, the heating device (1, 40, 60) having a heat transfer surface for transfer of heat to the fluid medium (30); the heating device is designed so that to enable connection to a vessel (2) so that during usage the heat transfer surface (5, 41) contacts the fluid medium (30) for transfer of heat to the fluid medium. The heating device contains an orientation sensor (43) for the heating device orientation detection and a controller (50) for control of heat being transferred to the fluid medium in accordance with the orientation sensor conclusion.
