SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engobe compositions which can be used in making household ceramic articles. The engobe contains white-burning clay, ground scrap sheet window glass, a colouring additive and pyrophyllite, with the following ratio of components, wt %: white-burning clay - 81.0-88.0; ground scrap sheet window glass - 5.0-7.0; colouring additive - 0.5-5.0; pyrophyllite - 5.0-7.0.
EFFECT: high heat resistance of the engobe.
