FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves application to metal surface of a gel-electrolyte containing polyethyleneglycol, perchlorate of alkali metals, trifluoroacetate of alkali metals and two monomers of an acrylic row. Gel-electrolyte is applied with thickness of ≤ 1 mm, brought into contact with an electrode made from material that is neutral in relation to gel-electrolyte; at that, contact of the above electrode with metal surface being cleaned is fully excluded. Between the electrode and the metal surface being cleaned there created is electric stress, at which the electrode is an anode, and the value of which exceeds electrode potential of metal that purifies the above metal surface. After cleaning the gel-electrolyte is removed from metal surface.
EFFECT: invention provides effective cleaning of surface of any metals, accelerates a cleaning process and allows controlling surface cleaning quality.
