FIELD: packing industry.

SUBSTANCE: solution relates to cans, mostly for liquids, for instance, metal beer cans, and to keys for opening or closing of cans. The key 1 for opening and closing a can 2, representing a part made by stamping, has a cut segment 10 and a plug 7 with a cavity having a lock 14, made with a convex profile at the outer side of the plug and fixing the plug 7 in the closed position. There is a gap between the lock 14 of the plug 7 of the key and the edge of the opened segment of the cover. The key and the plug are made of a single whole stamped part. The key 1 has a button 3, serving for mechanical action at the key, which protrudes beyond the rim of the can cover. The plug 7 is fixed in the profile groove of the can cover. The key has a contact front element 8, acting at the opened segment of the can cover and serving as a small arm of the lever, and bent elements 19 of the key edge and a through segment 20 in the button of the key.

EFFECT: invention provides for simplification of a can opening process due to reduction of necessary manipulations during opening.
