FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: vacuum plasma sandwiched wear-proof coating is applied. First, applied is lower layer of titanium, zirconium and aluminium nitrides at the following ratio of components in wt %: titanium - 79.0-87.0, zirconium - 6.0-10.0, aluminium - 7.0-11.0. Then mid layer of carbonitride of titanium, zirconium and aluminium is applied at the following ratio of components, wt %: titanium - 79.0-87.0, zirconium - 6.0-10.0, aluminium - 7.0-11.0. Then top layer of carbonitride of titanium and zirconium is applied at the following ratio of components, wt %: titanium - 85.0-91.0, zirconium - 9.0-15.0. Coating layers are applied horizontally in one plane by three cathodes. First and second compound opposed cathodes of titanium and zirconium while third compound electrode of titanium and aluminium arranged there between. Lower and mid layers are applied by three cathodes while upper layer is applied by first and second cathodes.
EFFECT: higher cutting efficiency.
