SUBSTANCE: parking lot for parking of vehicles on a road (street) comprises a traffic area limited with a curbstone or a roadside, a pavement and a section between the traffic area and the pavement, comprising facilities arranged along the road for parking of vehicles. The parking lot is equipped with parking platforms, which are installed along the road in the section between the traffic area of the road and the pavement at the angle to the axial line of the road with the possibility of vehicles entry onto them from the road traffic area. Also the method is described to park vehicles on the parking lot along the road (street).

EFFECT: increased convenience and speed of vehicles entry from a road traffic area to parking platforms, provision of mass parking and storage of vehicles in the entire city, in public places and around residential quarters along their perimeter or a part of the perimeter, provision of free passage of vehicles on the traffic area of the road passing by the parking lot with parked vehicles, improved view of the road traffic area.
