SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal display device has a conductivity blocking element (31) for preventing electrical conductivity between an electrode film (19) in order to create conductivity between a gate line (12) and a main line (14c) in a contact opening (20) in an active matrix substrate (1) and an electrode film (23) as a common electrode for an opposite substrate (2). The conductivity blocking element (31) is provided on at least any one of the active matrix substrate (1) and the opposite substrate (2), in a position which at least partially overlaps the electrode film (19) in a direction normal to the substrate between the electrode film (19) of the active matrix substrate (1) and the electrode film (23) of the opposite substrate (2).
EFFECT: preventing short-circuiting between the active matrix substrate and the opposite substrate.
