COMPOSITE CABLE DESIGNED FOR OPERATION UNDER WATER, AND METHODS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE AND USE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC H01B7/14

Abstract RU 2497215 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: composite cables designed for operation under water include a non-composite electrically conducting core cable, multiple composite cables including multiple composite wires located around the core cable, and insulation cover enveloping the composite wires. Other implementations include an electrically conducting core cable; multiple elements chosen from elements of fluid medium transfer, electric power transfer, transfer of electric signal, luminous transmission, weight elements, bouyancy elements, filling elements or armouring elements located around the core cable in the form of at least one cylindrical layer with an axis determined with a certain central longitudinal axis of the core cable; multiple composite wires enveloping the above elements and located in the form of at least one cylindrical layer about the central longitudinal axis; and insulation cover enveloping the composite wires. Composite wires can be composite wires with metal matrix or polymer composite wires.

EFFECT: creation of light-weight hose cables having high cable tension strength.
