SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to device and method of monitoring patient's vital parameter by measurement of attenuation of light, emitted on patient's tissue, which contains stages at which: light is modulated with modulation frequency or modulation code; modulated light is irradiated on patient's tissue; collection of light, which passes and/or is reflected from tissue; demodulation of collected light with regard to interference caused by ambient light; determination of modulation frequency and/or modulation code, for which interference from ambient light is minimal or is below specified threshold; and setting modulation frequency and/or modulating code for light modulation in accordance with determined modulation frequency and/or modulating code, for which interference from ambient light is minimal or is below specified threshold.

EFFECT: versatile and reliable possibility of monitoring patient's vital parameter with high ratio "signal/interference" is provided.
